Roles and responsibilities
- Lead technical, operational, and financial project tasks for successfully implementing airport baggage/cargo handling system.
- Formulates project parameters and monitors progress, tracks key milestones, and reports on project status to stakeholders using various tools and methodologies.
- Organizing and maintaining project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and risk logs, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible to project team members.
- Interacts with clients, interprets their needs and requirements and represents them to the Projects Director for implementation in the field.
- Identify project risks and issues, assess their potential impact, and work with the Project Team and other functions to develop mitigation strategies.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement within the project management framework and collaborating with stakeholders to implement best practices.
- Accurately presents project status to the project director in monthly review meetings and weekly stand-up calls.
- Perform quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans and reports on the project's status.
- Collaborate with internal disciplines such as engineering, procurement, QHSE, contract management, and other internal cross-functional teams to create more efficient project execution methods and enhance the project's profitability.
- Facilitate communication between project teams, stakeholders, and senior management, ensuring alignment of project objectives and priorities.
- Interact with subcontractors to monitor and control their performance.
- Implement frameworks to measure the project's metrics and data collection.
- Ensure the project complies with applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
What do I need to qualify for the role?
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Project Management in airport Baggage/Cargo Handling Systems or large-scale industrial automation projects.
- Minimum 4 years of experience leading, coaching and developing the project teams.
- Hands-on experience in managing complex project milestones and deadlines.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management concepts, practices and procedures, resource and schedule management.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project and SAP.
- Working knowledge of Revit, ACAD, Primavera, and Conceptboard.
- A collaborative team player with leadership qualities, an open mindset, and excellent listening skills.
- Flexible, independent and able to handle stress effectively.
- Strong passion and proven success in achieving profitable project execution, distinct customer orientation and strong customer interface skills.
