Roles and responsibilities

- Lead cooperation with business units to identify environmental risks and opportunities, develop action plans, and implement monitoring and reporting processes, including for the Emirates Group Annual Report.
- Monitor and analyse environmental and sustainability developments, advise management on the impacts on Emirates, and develop Emirates' policy positions and fact-based commentary for communications and advocacy documents.
- Oversee the development and implementation of environmental management system processes and documentation.
- Implement compliance programmes for environmental/sustainability regulatory obligations in partnership with relevant business units.
- Develop internal communications and training materials in conjunction with communications and learning & talent specialists.
- Represent Emirates in relevant industry forums and in outreach to UAE and international stakeholders in coordination with International Affairs and other relevant departments and contribute to industry advocacy efforts on environmental/sustainability policy issues.
- Ability to mentor and develop from different cultural backgrounds, promoting innovation, collaboration, and cohesion within the team.
MANAGER SUSTAINABILITY PLANNING AND REPORTING

- Lead development of Emirates' environmental sustainability strategy and planning in coordination with the other Sustainability & Environment teams.
- Lead environmental sustainability reporting for Emirates and Emirates' subsidiaries in conjunction with Finance ESG, including for the Emirates Group Annual Report.
- Set and maintain Emirates' standards and procedures for greenhouse gas accounting and environmental sustainability reporting.
- Coordinate development, implementation and certification of Emirates' environmental management system.
MANAGER AVIATION EMISSIONS AND SUSTAINABILITY

- In partnership with key departments including Flight Operations, Emirates SkyCargo and Emirates Engineering, lead the development and implementation of environmental plans for aviation-specific regulatory requirements as well as for opportunities to reduce the environmental impact of operations.
- Research and review aviation technology developments and their environmental/sustainability implications, including new aircraft and engine designs and alternative energy sources.
MANAGER CORPORATE SUSTAINABILITY & PARTNERSHIPS

- Develop and maintain sustainability standards for procurement and support other business units on sustainable procurement.
- Coordinate corporate and onboard waste minimisation efforts in partnership with relevant departments and external entities.
- Work with other departments to implement sustainability processes in Emirates' new and existing facilities.
- Manage partnerships with external organisations, including those established through the Emirates sustainability fund.
Qualifications & Experience
This role might be for you if you have:
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) related to environmental management, sustainability, environmental science, or engineering.
- 10+ Years experience in Environmental/Sustainability Management or Engineering combined with experience in Commercial/Management. Research/Analysis, Consulting, Policy Advice or similar.
