A Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the acquisition of products and services needed by the company. This role involves negotiating with suppliers evaluating offers and ensuring timely receipt of materials with the required quality.
Job Duties:
1. *Supplier Research:* Identifying and communicating with potential suppliers to obtain quotes.
2. *Supplier Negotiation:* Negotiating prices and terms to secure the best deals.
3. *Purchase Orders:* Preparing and issuing purchase orders and documenting them.
4. *Shipment FollowUp:* Monitoring the status of shipments to ensure timely receipt of materials.
5. *Invoice Review:* Reviewing invoices and verifying them against purchase orders.
6. *Supplier Relationship Management:* Building and maintaining good relationships with suppliers.
7. *Performance Evaluation:* Assessing supplier performance and ensuring compliance with agreed standards.
8. *Collaboration with Other Departments:* Working with various company departments to identify procurement needs and ensure they are met.
9. *Report Preparation:* Preparing periodic reports on procurement activities and performance.
Required Qualifications:
A degree in Business Administration or a related field.
Previous experience in procurement or supply chain management.
Strong negotiation skills and effective communication abilities.
Proficiency with procurement management software and ERP systems.
Ability to work under pressure and solve problems.
Personal Skills:
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
