Develop, maintain and manage a commercially sound vendor base by maintaining an approved vendor and material list and ensure pre-qualification standards are met.
Liaise with the site and management teams to ensure a procurement plan is established taking into consideration lead times, logistics, and other factors that will influence timely pricing and avoid project delays.
Oversee all procurement activities associated with the purchasing of project material, machinery, sub contractors and at times, man power supply in accordance with the BOQ, specifications, contract and budget.
Manage project RFQ’s, commercial evaluations and POs.
Support projects and the finance team in controlling costs, cash flow plans and undertake bid versus buy analysis.
Research and identify suppliers and changes in materials that will ensure cost savings. This includes implementing procurement strategies to enable cost reductions and process simplification.
Manage Supplier contracts (SLA’s) that achieve cost, delivery, quality and service targets as required by the business.
Qualifications and skills:
Min. 5 years Landscaping and Irrigation Contracting experience in the GCC, preferably the UAE.
Bachelor or Masters degree in Civil engineering, planning or Construction management.
Thorough knowledge of eSourcing and/or eEvaluation ERP/BID Management systems.
Thorough knowledge of all materials utilised in soft and hard Landscaping including irrigation, fertilizers, chemicals, tiles and paving, aggregates, wood works and carpentry, lighting, MEP, swimming pools and water features and other related materials.
The ability to deal with the entire scope of multiple and simultaneous large scale infrastructure and landscaping projects.
Excellent negotiating and communication skills in various languages. English is a must, Arabic is an added advantage.
