Description:
Skilled position that performs scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to industrial equipment and vehicles such as forklifts (electric and LP), aerial lifts, personnel carriers and automobiles/trucks. Diagnoses, Disassembles and overhauls electrical systems, motors, drive systems, rear ends, brakes, and all other assemblies. Works with a high degree of independence. This position does not require you to have personal tools.
Position also requires a number of physical movements, including lifting, pinching, bending, reaching, climbing and manipulating and handling objects.
PRIMARY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Diagnose failures of vehicles and disassemble, repair and reassemble parts as necessary
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections on fleet vehicles
- Answer service calls
- Maintain vehicle records as required
- Maintain and repair fleet equipment
- Fill out all necessary documents
- Maintain records ' daily check list (pre-trip inspection)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 18 years of age ; 21 years or older if CDL Required
- Pass the Drug Test
- Pass the background check Pass the validated Selection Test Repairing forklifts (for example, repairing propane fuel systems, hydraulic systems, or palette jacks)
- Mechanical knowledge of industrial Equipment
- Experience with hydraulic and brake systems
- Understanding of Preventive Maintenance Programs
HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
- Working with computer instrumentation (for example, using desktop computers, hand-held computers, laptop computers, performing diagnostics with computers, or conducting preventative maintenance and executing work orders)
- Working with manufacturing standards (for example, knowing current standards, staying up-to-date with the latest technology, or having experience working with electronics, etc.)
- Driving trucks requiring a Class A or B CDL (for example, road testing trucks, driving trucks in and out of the repair shop)
- Repairing heavy trucks (Working on tractor-trailers, brakes, tires, engines
- Repairing light trucks (trucks, vans, support vehicles)
- Knowledge of internal combustible/diesel engines
