Job Summary:
As a lifeguard employed by the facilities management company your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons utilizing the aquatic facilities under our management. You will be tasked with enforcing rules and regulations monitoring activities in and around the pool area and responding promptly and effectively to any emergencies or incidents that may arise.
Key Responsibilities:
Pool Safety Monitoring:
- Maintain constant vigilance over the pool and surrounding areas scanning for any potential hazards or unsafe behaviors.
- Enforce all pool rules and regulations to ensure the safety of patrons.
- Provide assistance and guidance to patrons as needed especially children and individuals with special needs.
Emergency Response:
- Be prepared to respond quickly and efficiently to any emergencies including water rescues injuries or medical incidents.
- Administer first aid CPR or other lifesaving techniques as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with emergency services and facility management during critical incidents.
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service to patrons addressing any inquiries or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Offer assistance with pool equipment such as life jackets or flotation devices and ensure their proper use.
- Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor to foster a positive and welcoming environment.
Facility Maintenance:
- Conduct routine inspections of the pool area and equipment to identify any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
- Report any maintenance needs or safety concerns to appropriate personnel for prompt resolution.
- Assist with cleaning and upkeep tasks as needed to ensure the facility remains clean and wellmaintained.
Qualifications:
- Valid lifeguard certification from a recognized authority (HighfieldsRLSSSTA or equivalent)
- Current certification in CPR first aid and AED.
- Strong swimming skills and knowledge of water rescue techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
- Must already hold a Lifeguard (Highfields, RLSS, STA or equivalent) - Able to communicate clearly & effectively to all levels of the work force.
