We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented CAD Drafter to join our innovative engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and modifying detailed drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) hardware and software from sketches, layouts, or notes provided by engineers. The drafter will also work with engineers to understand the scope and requirements of a project and then develop detailed drawings that are critical to the successful implementation of the project. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work well in a team.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality detailed design drawings and plans using AutoCAD software.
- Work closely with project engineers and other drafters to ensure coordinated design.
- Apply layering and drafting standards on all project drawings.
- Perform schematic design and design development.
- Prepare construction documents including but not limited to panel schedules, power plans, lighting, and load calculations.
- Assist in construction administration.
- Maintain and update electronic and manual records of all technical drawings.
- Use Title 24 software to perform energy compliance analysis and generate reports.
- Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
- Participate in design meetings and provide input based on technical knowledge and experience.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a CAD Drafter in the engineering industry.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software.
- Experience in Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Construction Administration, Design, Panel Schedules, Power Plans, Lighting, Load Calculations, and Title 24.
- Strong understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminologies.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to create precise and detailed drawings.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of industry, engineering, mathematics, and materials is a plus.
- Certification from the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) is a plus
