Job Description

PRODUCTION LINE WORKER & GENERAL LABOURER

Responsibilities Included

General Labour Duties

Spreading and Gathering meat for, and from, defrost process

Portioning and Weighing raw ingredients

Linking and Handing portioned units

Peeling and Cutting of meat and meat products

Corrugated box requisition and assembly

Poly bag/liner requisition and application

Counting and packaging meat products into boxes

Label application

Strapping boxes into bundles

Stacking bundles onto skid

Wrapping pallet

Operation of manual hand-pump truck to move pallet(s) from Packaging to Storage

Garbage removal

o Cleaning and Sanitation

Preparation for cleaning (removal of debris)

Rinsing, Application and Scrubbing/Lathering of detergent

Rinse and Inspection

Application of sanitizer

o Machine Operation

Various machines/equipment based on assigned workstation

Training will be required

Seasonal Hours

o January thru September - 5 to 6 shifts per week, 10-12 hours per shift

o October thru December - 3 to 4 shifts per week, 10-12 hours per shift

Work Environment

o Shift START time is 5:00am sharp, Shift END time is 3 to 5pm

o Paid Break(s) - two 30-minute breaks starting at 9:30am and 1:00pm

o Lift up to 60lbs, on a regular basis throughout the day

o Labour intensity varies depending on the assigned station within the production line

o Assigned station will change throughout the day

o Cold environment, all processing rooms kept at 10 degrees Celsius. Cooler and Freezers also present

Wage(s)

o Training and Probation period (first 2-months): $16.00

o Permanent Placement Wage: $17.00 to $19.00 (varies on placement, abilities and efficiency)

o Grown opportunities Wage: $20 to $28.00 (will require management/supervisor skills as well as abundant internal knowledge of processes, recipes, etc.)
