Building Code Inspector (Roofing)
All candidates must be able to read, interpret, and apply a wide variety of technical information from manuals, drawings, specifications, layouts, blueprints, and schematics.
The individual will be responsible for the following:
- Reviewing roofing applications for compliance with the code; performs roofing inspections and enforces roofing protocols
- Documentation of daily construction activities
- Meeting and conferring with applicants requiring plan review services for municipality building permits
- Rejecting incomplete or unsatisfactory submittals
- Meeting with municipalities, state, and federal government officials concerning matters relating to building plan review and municipality building permits
- Inspecting construction foundations, alterations, repairs, remodeling, or demolition of reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, wood construction and inspection of plumbing, heating, and electrical installations and the installation of building systems, when permitting is required, to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and any applicable local technical amendment to the Florida Building Code
- Enforcing project requirements and assuring that non-compliance situations are detected and rectified

Requirements
- State of Florida Commercial Roofing Inspector License is Required
- State of Florida Building Inspector License is Required
- Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing), using the English language, required
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (Company will provide Personal Protective Equipment and inclement weather gear, as appropriate)
- Valid Drivers license
