To support the migration of CLIENT operational application databases from proprietary systems (such as Oracle and SQL Server) to open-source platforms like PostgreSQL and MySQL. The role involves assisting in the evaluation planning and execution of migration activities aimed at reducing the total cost of ownership and dependency on proprietary technologies. The analyst will also handle business- as-usual (BAU) tasks including routine maintenance system performance analysis application support and coordinating upgrades or release requests from business units
Professional/Regulatory/Certification Requirements:
- PostgreSQL Professional Certification
- EDB (EnterpriseDB) Professional Certification
- OCP: Oracle Certified Professional MySQL
- RHCE or RHCSA: Red Hat Certified Engineer / System Administrator
MongoDB Associate Database Administrator Certification
Core Activities Experience:
Experienced in managing and supporting PostgreSQL (version 14 and above) on both Linux and Windows platforms including PostgreSQL EDB and high availability setups using Streaming Replication and Postgres-BDR. Skilled in working with MySQL versions 5 through 8 across Linux and Windows environments
Skills Tools and Systems Experience:
- Open-Source Databases: PostgreSQL (90%) MongoDB (5%) MySQL (5%)
- Scripting: Bash PowerShell and Python
- PostgreSQL EDB (version 12 and above)
- PostgreSQL Enterprise Manager (PEM) for performance monitoring
- Database clustering and replication technologies including CitusData and EDB Enterprise Failover Manager (EFM)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Microsoft Office Suite
