We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer Static Equipment to join our engineering team in Dubai supporting a major onshore oil and gas project in Iraq. The role is focused on the engineering phase of the project including FEED Detailed Engineering and Detailed Design and requires expertise in the design and specification of static mechanical equipment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the mechanical engineering scope for static equipment including pressure vessels heat exchangers storage tanks separators filters and related components.
- Develop and review technical specifications datasheets material requisitions and technical bid evaluations for static equipment packages.
- Ensure all designs are in compliance with project requirements client specifications and international codes and standards (e.g. ASME API TEMA ASTM).
- Interface and coordinate with other engineering disciplines such as Process Piping Civil/Structural and Instrumentation.
- Review and approve vendor documents ensuring alignment with project specifications and schedules.
- Support design reviews including HAZOP HAZID 3D Model Reviews etc.
- Provide technical input and resolution to queries from procurement vendors and construction teams.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality engineering deliverables as per project schedule and standards.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in mechanical engineering specifically in static equipment within the onshore oil and gas sector.
- Proven experience in FEED and detailed design phases of large-scale oil and gas projects.
- Familiarity with Iraq-based project specifications or working experience with Iraq clients is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of international design codes and standards (e.g. ASME Section VIII API 650/660/661 TEMA).
- Proficient in engineering tools and software used for equipment design and evaluation.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
