Role Summary:

    The incumbent will be responsible for supporting GMGs tax operations by ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations preparing tax returns and maintaining accurate tax records. The role involves assisting with VAT corporate tax and other relevant tax filings ensuring timely and accurate submissions. The incumbent will collaborate closely with the Senior Manager - Tax and the finance team to provide support in tax audits and assessments while also assisting in tax planning and process improvements.

    Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

    Prepare and submit tax returns (VAT corporate income tax withholding tax) in compliance with applicable regulations.
    Maintain accurate tax records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
    Manage tax databases and ensure timely tax reporting.
    Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations providing timely updates and impact assessments to management.
    Assist in resolving tax-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
    Support tax audits by liaising with external auditors and tax authorities.
    Ensure accurate and timely responses to queries raised by tax authorities.
    Assist in the implementation of tax-efficient processes and policies within the organization.
    Collaborate with finance legal and other departments to ensure tax compliance across operations.

    Functional/Technical Competencies:

    Strong knowledge of local and international tax regulations.
    Proficiency in tax return preparation and compliance requirements.
    Ability to analyze tax laws and assess their impact on the organization.
    Experience in managing tax records and documentation.
    Hands-on experience with SAP or other tax-related financial systems.
    Strong problem-solving skills to address tax-related challenges.
    Ability to work with auditors and tax authorities effectively.
    Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

    Experience:

    Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in tax compliance reporting or advisory roles.
    Experience in a corporate tax environment preferably within a multinational organization.
    Hands-on experience with VAT corporate income tax and withholding tax filings.
