KBR is looking for a Field Commissioning Process Engineer to be based in Abu Dhabi for an EPC project.
Initial mob Fabrication Yard Abu Dhabi later on to offshore site to support the commissioning activities
Job Overview:
The Field Commissioning Process Engineer will be part of the Project Management Team (PMT) supporting the precommissioning commissioning and startup activities. The project involves the fabrication of offshore modules at a construction yard before transportation and installation at the offshore site. The engineer will assist in precommissioning commissioning and startup activities ensuring compliance with project plans industry standards and safety protocols while coordinating with stakeholders across construction engineering and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as part of the Project Management Team (PMT) assisting in tracking commissioning progress resolving bottlenecks and ensuring milestones are met.
- Collaborate with construction mechanical electrical instrumentation and HSE teams to ensure commissioning activities align with project timelines.
- Attend project meetings technical discussions and HSE briefings documenting key action points.
- Support precommissioning and commissioning of offshore process equipment including separators compressors pumps heat exchangers and gas processing units.
- Witness and assist in piping cleaning (blowing/flushing) P&ID conformity check loop checks gross leak test N2/He leak tests functional testing and system pressurization for fabricated modules at the construction yard and offshore.
- Work closely with vendors and contractors for equipment testing troubleshooting and performance validation.
- Ensure commissioning activities comply with strict offshore and yard safety regulations particularly in high HS environments.
- Participate in HS safety training toolbox talks gas detection procedures and emergency response drills.
- Support the implementation of permittowork (PTW) risk assessments and process safety management protocols.
- Identify and report technical issues deviations and punch list items during precommissioning and commissioning.
- Participate to Mechanical Completion Walkdowns and PSSR Walkdowns
- Review Mechanical Completion and Commissioning Dossiers
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree or Diploma in Chemical Mechanical or Process Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of field experience in precommissioning and commissioning process engineering and Operations in the oil & gas sector.
- Basic understanding of offshore process systems equipment piping and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with P&IDs process control logic and commissioning procedures.
- Strong awareness of HS hazards offshore work environments and safety standards.
- Strong teamwork communication and ability to coordinate between different stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in offshore and construction yard environments as part of an integrated project team.
- Basic Knowledge of API ASME IEC and industry standards governing offshore oil and gas commissioning.
- Previous proven experience in Offshore and High H2S work environment.
- Knowledge of the completion process and related documentation
