The primary purpose of this role is to manage the marketing activities for Dubai and another regional office of an international law firm. This is a strategic yet hands on role which focuses on the planning and daytoday delivery of the firms marketing communications and client development activities.
The role will help improve the firms profile in the local market and help to grow its client relationships. It involves the full mix of marketing activities from events digital press and client development initiatives such as pursuits and account management.
Key responsibilities
Marketing and Communications
- Plan and execute targeted marketing campaigns that draw together the full MarComms mix events web press social media and marketing collateral to ensure marketing activities are not executed in isolation and are approached as campaigns wherever possible.
- Plan and deliver the local seminars conferences and exhibition programmes and daytoday client hospitality activities. Work collaboratively with Partners on suggesting targeted business development and marketing programmes to increase brand profile and generate networking opportunities. Ensure all events are managed and executed efficiently and to the highest quality within agreed budgets.
- Work with the PR team to manage external communications including media opportunities such as press releases award submissions negotiating sponsorship securing industry features and articles and press commentary. Coach Partners and fee earners in dealing with the media. Work with lawyers to promote social media best practice including lawyer presentations tips and guidance on managing their individual LinkedIn and Twitter accounts contribute to the firms global social media accounts including Twitter LinkedIn and Instagram.
- Contribute to internal communications ensuring that local activities are profiled appropriately across the firms global network including the firms intranet.
- Coordinate and submit legal directory entries for regional offices (Legal 500 and Chambers). Deliver best practice guidance on the process in order to improve rankings in key areas of expertise.
- Edit high quality marketing communications e.g. news alerts electronic publications and online articles. Plan the of these via the firms emarketing tool Vuture (for publication templates) CRM system InterAction (for targeted distribution lists) and website (CMS system). Liaise with the UK BD team to ensure that all outgoing communications are planned and targeted correctly to avoid mailing duplication.
- Ensure local content is kept up to date on the firms website and that all fee earners bios are up to date and live on the system. Add new and approved articles and local content.
- Act as the guardian of the firms brand and corporate identity including applying guidelines for its consistent application across branded materials produced inside and outside of the firm. Manage local marketing merchandise and literature including flyers and adhoc collateral.
- Manage the local Business Development budget and ensure it is regularly reviewed and feedback/recommendations are provided on spend and best value for money. Prepare and monitor annual budgets.
Client Development
- Help partners prepare for strategic pursuits. Operate as a respected and proactive internal consultant coaching partners and others involved in winning new business in the art of developing competitive commercial propositions. Project manage and draft local pursuits e.g. proposal documents presentations and fee quotes. Analyse opportunities to recommend bid/no bid decisions
- Take a lead role where appropriate in coordinating local content for global or regional pursuits by working in partnership with the UK Business Development team. Develop and manage a library of local content that connects in with the firms UK pursuit library and templates. Coach partners on pitch presentations win themes and best practice
- Take a proactive and lead role in client development initiatives including coordinating client development meetings and opportunities. Undertake market research and insights in relation to clients and market trends that assist the partnership with their business development efforts and planning
- Manage the local contact database via InterAction ensuring data is current and segmented to support targeted regular reporting for the office and emarketing campaigns. Work with lawyers to ensure all local BD activities and the system is promoted.
