We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of expertise in infrastructure bridge and underpass maintenance projects. The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing maintenance activities ensuring the successful execution of all tasks compliance with safety and regulatory requirements and efficient coordination among various teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Management:
- Oversee all maintenance activities for bridges and underpasses ensuring all tasks are executed according to maintenance schedules and approved methodologies.
- Ensure that maintenance work is carried out as per the approved method statements and shop drawings maintaining highquality standards.
Project Coordination & Planning:
- Coordinate with internal departments subcontractors and local authorities to ensure that all regulatory requirements for maintenance activities are met.
- Develop and implement maintenance plans allocating sufficient time for each activity while ensuring no disruption to traffic or services.
Monitoring & Reporting:
- Monitor and assess the progress of maintenance tasks identifying any delays or issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Review and prepare daily reports documenting maintenance progress and compliance with safety standards.
- Provide regular status reports on project progress safety quality and any issues requiring attention.
Team Management & Leadership:
- Supervise Site Engineers subcontractor engineers and other maintenance teams ensuring they are fully aware of their responsibilities and equipped for their tasks.
- Conduct regular briefings site inspections and toolbox talks to ensure safety and compliance at all times.
Material & Resource Management:
- Ensure that all materials used for maintenance tasks meet the required standards and are sourced from approved suppliers.
- Oversee the proper handling storage and use of materials ensuring that they are available in a timely manner.
Compliance & Safety:
- Enforce strict adherence to Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements during maintenance operations.
- Ensure all required permits and inspections are in place before commencing any maintenance activity.
Inspection & Quality Control:
- Ensure that all maintenance work meets or exceeds the required project specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct site inspections and verify compliance with the approved method statements quality control procedures and contract specifications.
Risk Management & Problem Solving:
- Identify potential risks associated with maintenance activities propose mitigation strategies and address any unforeseen issues.
- Proactively resolve any technical or operational issues that arise during the course of maintenance work.
Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination:
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of services and materials.
- Supervise thirdparty contractors and ensure their work complies with the scope of work specifications and safety standards.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and uptodate project documentation including maintenance logs inspection reports and variations in scope or cost.
- Prepare and maintain operation and maintenance manuals work instructions and any other relevant documentation.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure the proper scheduling and mobilization of equipment and resources for maintenance tasks.
- Track the condition of project equipment and materials coordinating with the project team to resolve any issues.
- Perform other duties related to maintenance as assigned by the Project Manager.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
- 10 years of relevant experience in project management and engineering
- Strong knowledge of project management principles and methodologies
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
- Proficiency in project management software and tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a teamoriented environment
- Detailoriented with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Experience in cost control risk management and quality assurance
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience mentoring junior staff
