PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in Offshore projects to join our team. The role focuses on the design analysis and implementation of electrical systems for Offshore Oil & Gas facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering principles offshore regulations and project management within the Oil & Gas sector.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design develop and oversee electrical systems and components for offshore platforms and associated facilities.
- Perform technical evaluations feasibility studies and cost estimation for electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards regulatory requirements and company policies throughout the design and execution phases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical engineers designers and project managers to integrate electrical systems with overall project objectives.
- Conduct and review electrical calculations including load analysis short circuit studies and coordination studies.
- Prepare specifications datasheets and other technical documentation for procurement of electrical equipment.
- Support commissioning and startup activities including troubleshooting and resolution of electrical system issues.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering preferably focused on Offshore Oil & Gas projects.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as ETAP SKM PowerTools or similar.
- Knowledge of offshore electrical systems including power distribution instrumentation and hazardous area classifications (e.g. ATEX).
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g. NEC IECEx API IEEE).
- Experience in preparing technical reports specifications and engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
