Senior Data yst - The Emirates Group

Job Purpose: The Senior Data yst is a fullyparticipating member of a crossfunctional team working autonomously on technology development and problem resolution in the Enterprise Data & ytics space. The role involves the ysis aspects of sourcing and transforming data to ensure it delivers on the insights required by Emirates Airlines and Emirates Group business stakeholders.

In this role you will:

• Understands business domains well (e.g. airline penger pilot & crew aircraft HR Finance). Work with product owners and business users to understand operational source system data and business transformation/data cleansing rules required to ensure that ytical solutions generate the insights required by the business. Operate with a datadriven mindset helping the business generate those insights based on data.
• ist in the collection of data dictionaries and the creation of business glossaries. Maintain core data repositories as data sources and interfaces change over time.
• Understand and maintain data models and data interfaces for the ytical environment to understand availability of data for the required business reports.
• Conduct simple data gap ysis and data profiling to yze the availability and quality of incoming data and advise on any data cleansing rules or issue resolution options in case of incidents (including ysis of potential data quality issues). Incorporate business transformation rules into solution designs or mapping doents to ensure solutions provide timely business value.
• The doent proposed or modified data interfaces including fit for data models data flow timing sourcetotarget mapping uniqueness criteria and data transformation rules including data validations and controls.
• Provide feedback on logical and physical data models to ensure they effectively meet the ytical requirements and expectations.
• Collaborate with the quality engineers to identify areas that need to be validated and ensure data exposed to business stakeholders satisfies their ytical needs.
• Keep current on evolving Emirates Airlines and Emirates Group data and ytics business knowledge domains to accurately ess the quality of the data and ensure business glossaries remain uptodate.

Qualifications & Experience: To be considered for the role you must meet the below requirements:

• Bachelors degree (123) in Computer Science Computational Mathematics Computer Engineering or Software Engineering with a preference for Data & ytics specialization plus 2 years of data ysis experience (or fewer for masters degree holders).
• Minimum 2 years conducting data ysis tasks (e.g. source system identification data dictionary/metadata collection data profiling sourcetotarget mapping).
• Proven track record developing and maintaining data doentation artifacts in organizations of similar size and complexity within project deadlines.
• Deep expertise in business transformation rules and understanding of data solution designs.
• Experience writing SQL queries to yze data and provide results to business users or project team members.
• Experience with building information designs for datacentric projects on one or more of the following (preferably within an airline industry): Data Warehouses Big Data Environments for ytics Data API Business Intelligence Solutions.
• Airline industry experience preferred (or expertise in a supporting function such as HR or Finance) needs to understand the business domains well to conduct data modeling and ysis activities

• Big Data & Distributed Processing: Querying HDFS or ADLS file storage systems with tools such as Hive or HBase ElasticSearch Experience with AVRO / PARQUET file formats nicetohave.
• Data ysis Modelling and Reporting: SQL Snowflake Data Vault 2.0 MicroStrategy Power BI.
