As a Sales Engineer working for a Facilities Management (FM) company your role bridges the gap between technical expertise and client relations. You are responsible for understanding the technical aspects of the services your company offers and effectively communicating those to clients while also understanding the client s needs to propose tailored solutions. Here s an overview of the key responsibilities and expectations for a Sales Engineer in this context:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Needs Assessment:

    • Engage with potential clients to understand their specific needs related to facilities management services including HVAC electrical plumbing janitorial and more.
    • Conduct site visits to assess the current state of the clients facilities and identify areas where your companys services can add value.
  2. Solution Development:

    • Develop customized facilities management solutions that meet the clients needs leveraging the full range of services offered by your company.
    • Work with technical teams to ensure that proposed solutions are feasible and align with the company s capabilities.
    • Prepare detailed proposals including scope of work timelines and cost estimates.
  3. Technical Presentations:

    • Deliver technical presentations to clients clearly explaining the benefits of your proposed solutions.
    • Translate complex technical information into terms that are easily understood by nontechnical stakeholders.
    • Address any technical questions or concerns that clients may have during the sales process.
  4. Sales Strategy and Planning:

    • Develop and implement sales strategies to target specific industries or sectors where your company s services are most needed.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by researching market trends competitors and potential clients.
    • Set sales targets and work towards achieving them by managing the sales pipeline and tracking progress.
  5. Collaboration with Internal Teams:

    • Work closely with engineering operations and project management teams to ensure that client requirements are fully understood and met.
    • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop technical content for promotional materials such as brochures case studies and website content.
    • Provide feedback to product development teams based on client needs and market trends.
  6. Contract Negotiation:

    • Lead negotiations with clients to finalize contracts ensuring that terms are favorable for both the client and your company.
    • Ensure that all technical and commercial aspects of the agreement are clearly defined and documented.
    • Work with legal teams to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
  7. PostSales Support:

    • Maintain ongoing relationships with clients after the sale to ensure satisfaction and address any issues that arise.
    • Coordinate with service delivery teams to ensure that projects are executed according to the agreed terms and conditions.
    • Seek opportunities to upsell or crosssell additional services based on the evolving needs of the client.
  8. Market Analysis and Feedback:

    • Continuously monitor the market to identify trends emerging needs and potential new services that your company could offer.
    • Gather feedback from clients and the market to refine service offerings and improve customer satisfaction.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on market positioning and strategic opportunities.
  9. Reporting and Documentation:

    • Prepare regular reports on sales activities pipeline status and revenue projections.
    • Maintain detailed records of all client interactions proposals contracts and feedback.
    • Ensure that all documentation is uptodate and accessible to relevant teams within the company.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A degree in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical or related fields) Facilities Management or Business Administration.
  • Experience: Experience in a sales role preferably within the FM industry or a related technical field. Familiarity with technical sales and client relationship management is essential.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of facilities management services including HVAC electrical plumbing and other building systems.
  • Sales Skills: Excellent negotiation communication and presentation skills. Ability to close deals and manage client relationships effectively.
  • ProblemSolving: Strong analytical skills to assess client needs and develop effective solutions.
  • Customer Focus: Ability to build strong relationships with clients and a commitment to meeting their needs.


Experience: Experience in a sales role, preferably within the FM industry or a related technical field. Duct cleaning, HVAC installation, Tank cleaning, maintenance works etc -Must have UAE DL
