Position Title: Indoor Plant Gardener

Job Description:

As an Indoor Plant Gardener at our flower shop you will be entrusted with the vital task of nurturing and maintaining the health and appearance of live plants within our indoor environment. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring that our shop maintains a vibrant and inviting atmosphere while providing customers with highquality plants that enhance their homes or workplaces.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Care and Maintenance:
   
• Conduct regular inspections of all live plants to assess their health and address any issues such as pests diseases or environmental stressors.
  
• Develop and implement a comprehensive care plan for each plant species including watering schedules pruning routines and fertilization requirements.
  
• Monitor environmental conditions such as light levels humidity and temperature to ensure optimal growing conditions for all plants.
  
• Pot repot and transplant plants as needed using appropriate soil mixes and containers to support healthy growth.
  
• Apply treatments such as pest control measures or disease management strategies as necessary to safeguard plant health.
  
2. Plant Selection and Display:
   
• Collaborate with the shops management team to curate a diverse selection of indoor plants that appeal to our customer base and complement our existing floral offerings.
  
• Design and maintain attractive plant displays throughout the shop incorporating creative arrangements and decorative elements to enhance visual appeal.
  
• Rotate plant inventory regularly to showcase seasonal varieties and introduce new arrivals keeping the shops ambiance fresh and engaging.
  
3. Customer Engagement:
   
• Provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers seeking advice on plant selection care tips and troubleshooting solutions.
  
• Offer personalized recommendations based on customers preferences lifestyle factors and the specific conditions of their indoor spaces.
  
• Educate customers about the benefits of indoor plants including their ability to purify air reduce stress and enhance overall wellbeing.
  
4. Shop Maintenance:
   
• Keep planters containers and display areas clean and wellmaintained ensuring a tidy and inviting shopping environment.
  
• Monitor inventory levels of plantrelated supplies such as soil pots and fertilizers and communicate any replenishment needs to the appropriate personnel.
  
5. Record Keeping and Documentation:
   
• Maintain accurate records of plant inventory including species quantities and procurement dates.
  
• Document plant care activities such as watering schedules pruning dates and any treatments administered ensuring thorough and organized recordkeeping.
  
• Monitor plant performance over time tracking growth patterns flowering cycles and any notable changes in health or appearance.
  

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in indoor plant care horticulture or a related field is preferred.
  
• Knowledge of indoor plant species their care requirements and common pests and diseases.
  
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and address plant health issues proactively.
  
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly approachable demeanor.
  
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic retail environment.
  
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move planters or bags of soil as needed.
