Genesis Consulting has an immediate opportunity for an experienced, forward thinking SAP HCM Payroll ABAP Developer with a passion for growth and business transformation. Join our team and utilize SAP technology to configure, develop, deliver and support applications for our clients while leveraging concepts of Lean, Agile, Kanban and SAFe. Our clients are some of the world s leading companies and the candidate will be a part of challenging projects to build and support technical solutions for their needs. The candidate should be well versed with all aspects of SAP development and tables for time and payroll on SAP ECC 6.0 EHP8.


Duties and Responsibilities:


The SAP HCM/Payroll ABAP Developer will provide SAP technical support to the existing Payroll Operations Team, HR, Finance and IT Departments for our long term SAP client. They will be responsible for the improvement and automation of SAP payroll processes, reports, configuration and integration to ensure optimization of the use of Payroll master data, W4, tax info types, benefits info types, wage types, time transfer rules, time evaluations, garnishments, common payroll errors for workers comp, quota balances, payroll dme files, bank transfers, off cycle run configurations, tax reporter configuration, magnetic and print forms for tax reporting, W2 configuration and generation, payroll reconciliation.

This position is expected to provide expert level business process guidance on SAP and facilitate SAP ABAP development and performance analysis for client. Other duties and responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Conduct defect analysis and perform necessary fixes and enhancements
  • Collaborate with functional owners, architects and other personnel to develop dynamic and flexible systems to meet the emerging demands of the market
  • Assist in creation and unit testing of ABAP programs and reports
  • Review program codes and correct ABAP program errors
  • Maintain and update existing program codes as needed
  • Develop technical specification and estimations for assigned project
  • Work in compliance with the programming and documentation standards
  • Ensure project completion within the allotted timelines and budget
  • Troubleshoot production problems in a timely manner
  • Must handle SAP HCM, Payroll and FI related development and production support activities
  • Responsible for creation of technical specifications based on a business discussion with end-users
  • Reviews and understands business requirements/use cases and functional details
  • Design solutions that maximize the out of the box features of the product and minimize customizations
  • Test configuration changes and assist QA team in test planning and troubleshooting
  • Facilitate end user acceptance
  • Manage design, development and implementation of ABAP projects
  • Review and revise technical designs to meet ABAP project requirements
  • Provide technical and functional guidance to Genesis team and client
  • Provide high quality customer support throughout the project


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of full lifecycle, Systems Integration, SAP implementation experience
  • 3-5+ years ABAP Development and Performance Analysis Experience including testing, debugging and resolving issues to the implemented enhancements / conversions / reports related to SAP HCM and Payroll modules.
  • Must possess extensive knowledge in the following areas:
  • Strong skills in using ABAP proxy's, Enhancements, RFC's (Remote Function Call), Data Dictionary, Dialog Programming, Classical and Interactive Reporting, ALV, Interfaces/Conversions, Smart forms & EDI.
  • Expertise in enhancing standard SAP functionality leveraging standard enhancements framework User exists, Business Transaction Events (BTE), Business Add Ins (BADI), Enhancement Spots (Implicit & Explicit).
  • Extensive experience in ABAP development, with both custom development and customizations to existing processes, including use of IDOCs, ALE, RFC, BAPI, BADI, ALV, LSMW, ABAP Workbench, Data Dictionary, Reports (Classical and Interactive Reports), BDC (Batch-Input and Call Transaction Methods), SAP Scripts, Enhancements.
  • Experience with SAP SmartForms, including custom forms and improvements to existing SAP forms, output methods, determinations, etc.
  • SAP Development Implementation experience on SAP modules like HCM, Payroll, Time, Financials, including Funds Management
  • Experience working in an onshore/offshore software development environment
  • Clearly demonstrated sense of urgency and bias for action
  • Ability to work well under pressure and independently
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical material
  • Ability to work on HCM, US Payroll, Time, GL developments, substitution rules and fixes along with standard issues
  • Able to fully research business situation, identify areas of concern and present solution
  • Knowledge in all phases of development and deployment lifecycle is preferred

  • Bachelor s Degree in Information Systems, Business Systems, Management Information Systems or IT field Required
