The Epic Ambulatory Analyst/Specialist is responsible for the implementation optimization and support of the Epic Ambulatory module. This role ensures the system meets the clinical and operational needs of outpatient care settings improves provider efficiency and enhances patient outcomes through streamlined workflows and integrated technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Implementation & Configuration:
- Configure Epic Ambulatory to support outpatient workflows including patient charting documentation and order entry.
- Build and maintain clinical templates smart tools order sets and protocols tailored to clinic needs.
- Integrate Ambulatory with other Epic modules like Cadence (scheduling) Prelude (registration) and MyChart (patient portal).
- Workflow Analysis & Optimization:
- Collaborate with clinicians nurses and administrative staff to understand and optimize outpatient workflows.
- Streamline processes for clinical documentation medication management and care coordination.
- Implement tools that reduce provider burden and enhance clinical efficiency such as note templates and decision support tools.
- Training & Support:
- Develop and deliver training materials for providers nurses and support staff.
- Provide handson support during golive and postimplementation to address technical and workflow challenges.
- Conduct followups to gather user feedback and refine system functionality.
- Patient Engagement:
- Support features that enhance patient engagement such as eprescribing secure messaging and online appointment scheduling via MyChart.
- Ensure workflows enable patientcentered care and seamless communication between providers and patients.
- Data Reporting & Analytics:
- Create and maintain reports to monitor clinical performance patient outcomes and workflow efficiency.
- Use analytics to identify trends improve clinical practices and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide data for compliance reporting and valuebased care programs.
- System Maintenance & Updates:
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliability.
- Test and implement Epic system upgrades enhancements and new features.
- Document configurations workflows and system changes accurately.
- Compliance & Security:
- Ensure workflows comply with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
- Work with IT and security teams to maintain data privacy and system integrity.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
- Serve as a liaison between clinical administrative and IT teams to ensure system alignment with organizational goals.
- Participate in interdisciplinary projects to improve patient care and clinic operations.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Epic Ambulatory Certification or demonstrated expertise in the Ambulatory module.
- Experience in healthcare IT clinical informatics or outpatient care operations.
- Strong understanding of outpatient clinical workflows including documentation ordering and care coordination.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with other Epic modules such as Cadence MyChart and Beacon.
- Experience in outpatient clinical roles such as nursing or practice management.
- Knowledge of valuebased care programs and outpatient quality metrics.
