Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Industrial Designer with a strong background in rolling stock design to join our Project Management Consultant (PMC) team. In this role you will be responsible for reviewing and approving the design submissions from the Design and Build (D&B) contractor focusing on train interiors external styling and overall aesthetics. You will ensure that the designs meet project specifications client requirements and industry standards.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review and approve rolling stock design submissions from the D&B contractor ensuring compliance with project specifications client requirements and industry standards.
- Evaluate design aspects related to train interiors external styling ergonomics and overall lookandfeel.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to the D&B contractor to address design deficiencies and enhance aesthetic and functional aspects.
- Ensure that design considerations for passenger comfort safety and accessibility are integrated into the rolling stock designs.
- Oversee the implementation of approved rolling stock designs during the construction phase ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify the proper execution of design elements.
- Monitor the D&B contractors compliance with design protocols materials selection and finishing standards.
- Coordinate with the D&B contractor to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to rolling stock design execution.
- Work closely with other engineering teams including mechanical electrical and safety engineers to ensure seamless integration of design elements with other project components.
- Liaise with local authorities regulatory bodies and other stakeholders to ensure design compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Provide training and support to project staff on design best practices and quality control procedures.
- Review and approve technical documentation including design drawings material specifications and asbuilt drawings related to rolling stock.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports highlighting design review outcomes risks and next steps to project stakeholders and senior management.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all design review activities and ensure proper documentation is available for future reference.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in industrial design Product Design or a related field.
- Extensive experience in rolling stock engineering.
- Knowledge of rolling stock systems and industry standards.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum of 1012 years of experience in industrial design with a focus on rolling stock (trains trams etc.).
- Proven experience in designing train interiors external styling and overall lookandfeel of rolling stocks
- Strong knowledge of design principles materials and manufacturing processes related to rolling stock.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced dynamic environment.
- UAE project experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to join quickly is preferred.
