To oversee the site supervision activities related to all faade works both Engineering and Installation across the project to deliver quality installations in accordance with the contract documents relevant international standards and local authorities requirements. Provide technical support; perform specialised quality assurance / control inspections submittal reviews and coordination with the wider supervision engineering and inspection teams.
Functional Relationships:
- Site Area Manager (SAM).
- Site Head of Disciplines (SHODs).
- Sites Quality Manager (SQM).
- Resident Engineer (RE).
- Site Discipline Engineers.
- Site Supervision Team.
- Site QA/QC Engineers (SQE).
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate building construction with consultants and subcontractors.
- Work closely with QA/QC engineer / RE / PMC to support the prequalification / selection process of specialist faade subcontractors faade sub consultants and faade element suppliers in terms of QA/QC oversight.
- Review and coordinate the faade related construction activities including the technical submittals mock ups deliveries logistics installation testing as required coordination with QA/QC to ensure compliance with contracts requirement and relevant codes and standards.
- Coordination of Facade elements and activities with the other disciplines during engineering and construction works.
- Coordinate and witness of Visual mock ups and Performance mockups testing in conjunction with the Consultants and Client to assure successful and timely completion of the mock up requirements.
- Coordinate with faade subcontractors to assure they secure third party participation in the PMUs.
- Assist in monitoring and coordinating progress of the faade construction activities and ensure all of them are on schedule including factory visits to check on production as needed.
- Coordinate the faade team to chair regular meetings having technical content with faade suppliers subcontractors and PMC teams as necessary.
- Oversee the specialist subcontractors to ensure design material and shop drawing information and fabrication is progressing in accordance with the overall project schedule.
- Coordinate with the contractor / specialist faade subcontractors and provide oversight of the site inspection team to ensure all SDs / MIRs / WIRs related to the faade are scheduled undertaken and recorded.
- Develop Implement and Manage Facade productivity measures and a reporting format.
- Develop Implement and Manage the Facade inspection process. Coordinate with the QA / QC team to ensure that nonconforming work is identified tracked and corrected prior to subsequent activities being performed.
- Coordinate with the contractor and provide oversight to assure the faade subcontractors generate accurate and complete daily weekly and monthly progress reports for distribution.
- Reports to include production issues schedule issues installation issues slippages quality issues and contractual issues. Assure distribution to the Resident Engineer.
- Coordinate and assist the QS & Contract Managers to assure complete scope and package development is provided to and undertaken by the Facade subcontractors.
- Coordinate and assist with the QS Contract Managers and REs to assure any and all faade related Variation Orders are processed in a timely manner.
- Develop Implement and Manage the coordination with the contractor and provide oversight of site faade to assure timely and complete faade related closeout document turnover spare parts & special tool turnover as built drawings turnover warranty turnovers and documentation of turnover receipt by the Client.
Qualifications:
- To be successful in this dynamic opportunity we envision that your career journey to date will include 1015 years experience partnered with a Degree in relevant field. It is imperative that you have previous experience working as a faade consultant or faade manufacturer undertaking a similar and relatable role.
Potential candidates will have the below job specific competencies:
- Have worked in a similar role within the Middle East specific UAE experience would be advantageous.
- Proven track record in overseeing the complete faade construction sequence of shop drawing material engineering reviews along with the VMU & PMU processes to installation snagging and handover.
- Have worked for a specialist faade sub consultant in a similar role or worked for a specialist faade subcontractor overseeing engineering testing and installation.
- Be aware of the relevant codes and standards both international and the UAE authorities requirements.
- Have awareness of sustainability and the various Certification in terms of the relationship of how faade elements impact the energy performance of a building would be a distinct advantage.
- Be fully conversant with the UAE fire code and international codes in relation to the specific requirements of facades and their performance.
- Strong communication skills both written and spoken which familiarity of contracts and the ability to support in formal contractual letter writing would be an advantage.
- Possess the ability to address challenges and devise effective solutions in a timely manner.
