In the frame of a Support Contract for UAE radio system the FSE takes part of a team of two Thales FSEs.
Being located at the Air Base the Thales team is embedded into the Customers global team (mainly Emirati) working for the End Users (UAE Air Force and Air Defence).
The FSE team is in charge to support technically the Customer to repair and maintain the radio system.
On top of that the team works with a support of the Thales back office in France (Design Authority System Engineering IVVQ Supply chain).
The FSEs are in charge of:
Repair mainly Thales equipment by using the ILS radio test bench
Identify and characterize with the Customer and the End Users the issues/snags which could happen and solve them by liaising with the backoffice
Be the interface to the Customer (and the End User) for any question/topic related to Thales supplied equipment.
Train the Customer and different EndUsers on radio system and associated Thales equipment
Writing reports to the project team (Project Manager System Engineering Manager IVVQ Manager)
Respecting the TAT target as given by the Project Manager for all repair and/or modification activities.
Maintaining an up to date knowledge of the product worked on with relevant technical documentation
Maintain the different databases by entering the data according to the job performed (maintenance Coach)
To qualify as a technical specialist able to sign approvals for his/her own completed work and work of junior technical specialist.
He/She must be able to meet all the requirements set in the QA policy for Approved Signatories
The selected candidate will benefit from a dedicated training on the legal Thales radio System for few months and the next system in a second phase.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A thorough understanding of radio technologies cloud technologies and an understanding of the development of products within a project environment will be required.
Work experience in Defense projects or critical infrastructure is preferred 35 years). Work experience as Technical Assistance in UAE is a plus.
In general:
Confirmed experience in validation Test Deployments of complex radio communication systems.
Proven experience in network
Experience in administrating Linux system and basic scripting languages
Experience in Virtualization
Experience with Docker (would be an advantage)
Experience in Thales methods and process is an advantage
Strong oral and written communications skills and ability to communicate with multiple overseas and local teams
QUALIFICATION CERTIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Engineering degree with specialty/valuable experience in system engineering and test and validation
Engineering knowledge in radio system electronics software and servitude systems (A/C power)
Training experience of Thales Customers in military environment
PREFERRED SKILLS
Teamwork is really important as team is composed of 2 FSEs with complementary skills
Autonomy is mandatory being open minded capable of fetching operational needs and feelings towards the system
Good customer intimacy and communication
Very reactive to solicitations
Be rigorous and able to quickly analyze and synthetize an issue to be communicated to a backoffice team
English language is mandatory
French language is a must
Arabic language is a plus.
HSE RESPONSIBILITIES
Take care of your own safety and the safety of others as far as is practicable.
To be aware of and play an active role in the development and implementation of the HSE Management System project HSE requirements and Policy Statements.
Understanding your personal responsibilities and contribute to achieving compliance with the HSE Management System requirements understand the potential consequences of noncompliance to the HSE arrangements and commits to stated policies above;
Comply with local laws and legislation regarding HSE.
To use safety equipment (including PPE) as required and intended and observe that this is also enforced within their departments and among subcontractors and third parties working in Thaless controlled premises/systems.
Do not interfere with or change adjust anything that is provided for safety unless fully trained to do so.
Promote a good HSE culture within their departments and among their peers subcontractors and third parties;
Lead by example and actively encourage their departments to look at ways to conserve energy water and resources and minimize the generation of waste through personal performance and raise recommendations on how to improve existing processes on this regard within/outside their departments.
Conduct regular reviews on the HSE Management System Performance within their areas of responsibility and seek ways of continual improvement.
