PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the job of a Quantity Surveyor with procurement experience in the UAE is to ensure the efficient and costeffective procurement of materials services and contracts required for construction projects. This role involves managing project costs sourcing quality materials and negotiating favorable terms with suppliers all while adhering to project budgets timelines and quality standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
- Conduct procurement activities including sourcing tendering and negotiation of contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Evaluate and compare supplier quotations to ensure costeffective procurement of materials and services.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates budgets and financial reports for projects.
- Monitor and track project costs to prevent cost overruns and maintain profitability.
- Review and manage contract documents terms and conditions to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Handle contract variations claims and disputes effectively.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for tendering and procurement purposes.
- Update and maintain BOQs as per project changes and requirements.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
- Prepare and submit detailed procurement and cost reports to management.
- Maintain comprehensive project records including correspondence and procurement logs.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement within the UAE.
- Proficient in procurement strategies cost estimation and contract administration.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Excellent knowledge of UAE construction materials suppliers and market conditions.
- Familiarity with relevant software such as AutoCAD MS Office and project management tools.
