To install new street lighting furniture wire up and set working to appropriate specifications and to meet current electrical installation standards. Undertake electrical testing of street lighting installations complete and report required paper records and or record electronically on hand held devices.
Job Responsibilities
- Install maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment including wiring lighting motors and generators.
- Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment to identify and diagnose problems and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Install and configure electrical components such as electrical devices switches circuit breakers and relays.
- Ensure quality of installation maintenance activities as per the industry specifications and training provided.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with other technicians engineers and contractors to design and install new electrical systems and equipment.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed including parts used and labour hours.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and equipment and order new supplies as needed.
- Participate in oncall rotations and emergency response teams to provide 24/7 support for electrical systems and equipment.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures including those related to safety quality and customer service.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a technical training program in electrical technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintaining and repairing street lighting systems.
Additional Information :
- Strong knowledge of electrical principles and safety procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings schematics and blueprints.
- Experience with testing equipment such as voltmeters ohmmeters and oscilloscopes.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical problems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
