Position Summary

To deliver a quality and fun tennis coaching programme to both adults and children of all abilities according to Advantage Sports standards and procedures.

The coach will have many specific objectives but each could probably be grouped into four major categories:

To provide personal and social development for lifetime skills.

To develop and improve the technical and physical skills of tennis

To provide a fun and enjoyable environment.

To orient young people to assist achieving their goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

Tennis coaching for daily and / or weekly tennis lessons / group classes

Coach for tennis camps (during school holidays) if and when requested to do so including tennis development and promotion

Ensure sufficient time is spent planning and preparing for tennis lessons at the appropriate playing level

Identify participants tennis abilities

Advertising for all Advantage Sports Services tennis programs

Ensure safety standards are followed in all sessions

Provide explanations and demonstrate tennis techniques to students

Set ground rules before each lesson

Correct tennis technique faults and identify ways to improve performance

Evaluate lessons and give feedback after each lesson to the respective parents / student

Working a minimum of 6 days per week 40 hours in total (36 hours on the court and 4 hours administration and development)

Assist with creating the top Tennis Academy within Abu Dhabi and Dubai

Ensure all tennis lessons are taught by Advantage is of the highest calibre at all times.

Assist assembling a complete tennis program offering coaching leagues and tournaments for all standards and also adapt other ideas.

Promote Advantage Sports sponsorship brands.

To be a point of contact between clients and the Managing Director and assist if and when necessary.

To assist in locating and setting up new projects.

Increase revenue for the tennis section of Advantage Sports Services.

Help liaise with Tennis Emirates to improve tennis programs and standards in the UAE.

Assist in tennis promotions clinics open days tennis racquet testing days etc. without hesitation

Develop the LTA Red Orange and Green & Teen Tennis scheme to run tournaments

Assist in arranging and teaching in holiday tennis camps

Contact person and organizer for Friday Mens Leagues for Advantage Sports Services venues

Contact person and organizer for Saturday Ladies Leagues for Advantage Sports Services venues

Assist with tournament development (interclub leagues open tournaments for all ages and abilities)

Programme coaching for children from 4 years of age and older juniors. Adults adult evenings ladies mornings match play mornings.

Personal Specifications

Interest and ability in tennis

Good spoken English communication skills

The ability to inspire confidence and motivate tennis players

Perseverance and patience is extremely important

The ability to encourage people and put them at ease

A minimum of 5 years experience and one of the following qualifications: LTA PTR US PTA RPT ITF or FIT
