PURPORSE OF THE JOB
We are seeking a talented and experienced Pipeline Stress Engineer to join our onshore operations team. In this role you will be responsible for conducting stress analysis and ensuring the integrity and reliability of our pipeline systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pipeline engineering with expertise in stress analysis techniques industry codes and standards and onshore pipeline operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform stress analysis of pipeline systems using industrystandard software such as Caesar II AutoPIPE or similar tools considering factors such as pressure temperature soil movement external loads and operational conditions.
- Evaluate the structural integrity and performance of pipeline components including pipe segments fittings valves and supports to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Review pipeline designs specifications and construction plans to identify potential stress issues and provide recommendations for design improvements or modifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pipeline designers civil engineers and construction professionals to optimize pipeline layouts routing and support arrangements.
- Conduct risk assessments and integrity analyses to identify potential threats to pipeline integrity such as corrosion erosion thirdparty damage and geotechnical hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare technical reports calculations and documentation to support regulatory submissions project proposals and engineering change requests.
- Provide technical support during pipeline construction commissioning and operation assisting with field inspections troubleshooting and resolution of stressrelated issues.
- Stay current with industry developments best practices and emerging technologies in pipeline stress analysis and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 7 years of experience in pipeline stress analysis preferably in the oil and gas industry with a focus on onshore pipeline operations.
- Proficiency in pipeline stress analysis software such as Caesar II AutoPIPE CAEPIPE or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards including ASME B31.4 ASME B31.8 API 1104 and API 5L.
- Familiarity with geotechnical and soilstructure interaction principles is desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to interpret complex engineering data and make sound engineering judgments.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure is preferred.
