Responsibilities Of The WMS Implementation Specialist
- Execute application testing - script creation, execution of Unit Testing, Systems Integration Testing (SIT) and defect management utilising an agreed test management tool.
- Lead and/or support Business Integration Testing (BIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Produce and maintain required documentation for all aspects of WMS implementations (site readiness, training etc).
- Support operational teams to define reporting requirements.
- Ensure all required hardware (scanners, printers etc) is configured and ready for use.
- Provide on-site presence for implementations as appropriate.
- Complete the deployment preparation of small WMS changes, identifying, communicating, and mitigating any associated risks.
- Continually develop knowledge and skills around the products, processes and controls used across the warehouse and fulfilment tower.
- Provide out of hours support during the go-live phase of a project, as required.
- Ensure a positive attitude to delivery and support.
- Regularly communicate implementation progress to stakeholders of the business.
- Attend relevant meetings to review progress and agree future actions.
- Deliver and/or support Super User training - both project and refresher when required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team and our processes, constructively challenging ways of working.
Skills Required For The WMS Implementation Specialist
- A Post Graduate qualification in an I.T. related subject is desirable but non-essential.
- WMS / Fulfilment application end user experience
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and how IT applications support these
- Strong communications skills
- Logical thinking & problem-solving ability
- Application testing experience
- Experience of automated warehousing
- Experience of 3PL Integration
