The Field Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the installation calibration and commissioning of instrumentation systems during the construction phase of oil and gas projects. This role requires a detailoriented professional with extensive experience in instrumentation engineering to ensure that all systems meet project specifications industry standards and regulatory requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and coordinate the installation of instrumentation systems and equipment onsite.
- Perform calibration of instruments to ensure accurate measurements and control.
- Verify that all instrumentation installations comply with design specifications and standards.
- Lead the commissioning activities for instrumentation systems ensuring proper functionality and integration with other systems.
- Conduct functional tests and loop checks to verify the performance of instruments and control systems.
- Document commissioning activities and results ensuring all issues are identified and resolved.
- Provide technical support and guidance to site personnel including instrument technicians and subcontractors.
- Troubleshoot and resolve instrumentationrelated issues that arise during construction and commissioning.
- Ensure that all instrumentation work aligns with project timelines and quality requirements.
- Implement quality control procedures to monitor and verify the integrity and performance of instrumentation systems.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections tests and calibration activities.
- Ensure all instrumentation work complies with industry standards codes and best practices.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines project managers and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on instrumentation engineering progress and challenges.
- Assist in the development and review of project schedules budgets and resource plans.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture onsite adhering to all HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of instrumentation works.
- Ensure that all instrumentation activities comply with environmental regulations and best practices.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Instrumentation Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 10 Years of Engineering Experience in oil and gas industry with 5 years in Field engineering.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems equipment and installations specific to oil and gas projects.
- Proficiency in using instrumentation design and analysis software.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g. ISA IEC API).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a teamoriented environment.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
