The successful candidate will possess the following;
- Marine experience and comfort working in marine environment
- Comfortable working in an offshore work environment for deployments of up to one month continuously, if required.
- Experience in sample collection, storage and in-situ instrument usage
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills: verbal, non-verbal, written.
- Good report writing skills
- Self-motivated and results oriented with high levels of energy.
- Is able to work in a team and individual environment.
Responsibilities:
- Survey and inspection of sites with reporting to supervisor.
- Survey and inspection of equipment with recommend improvements and innovations.
- Collection of samples with proper chain of custody procedures.
- In-situ testing of marine water quality.
- Marine mammal and reptile observations (MMRO) during routine works.
- Basic data collection and entry.
- Participate in dive surveys where required
Preferential (non mandatory) skills:
- Skippers license and comfortable handling of vessel
- Commercial or recreational diving certificate.
- Offshore training (BOSIET, H2S etc.)
