Logistics Officer Job Description

Summary: The Logistics Officer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the organizations logistics operations including transportation warehousing inventory management and distribution of materials products and services. They ensure the efficient and costeffective movement of goods and materials throughout the supply chain.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supply Chain Management: Develop and implement strategies to optimize the supply chain processes ensuring timely delivery of goods and materials while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency.
• Transportation Coordination: Manage the transportation of goods including negotiating rates with carriers scheduling pickups and deliveries and monitoring the movement of shipments.
• Warehousing and Inventory Control: Oversee warehouse operations including inventory management space allocation and distribution processes. Implement systems and procedures to maintain accurate inventory records and minimize stock discrepancies.
• Procurement and Vendor Management: Collaborate with procurement teams to secure the necessary materials supplies and services from reliable vendors. Negotiate contracts manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
• Reporting and Analytics: Prepare and analyze logistics reports including key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and support datadriven decisionmaking.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws regulations and industry standards related to logistics operations such as transportation safety hazardous materials handling and import/export regulations.
• Team Management: Supervise and lead the logistics team including hiring training and performance management. Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency costeffectiveness and customer satisfaction.
• Contingency Planning: Develop and maintain contingency plans to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain such as natural disasters labor disputes or transportation delays.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in logistics supply chain management business administration or a related field.
• Proven experience in logistics operations preferably in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with crossfunctional teams and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in logistics software enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other relevant technology tools.
• Knowledge of industry best practices regulations and trends related to logistics and supply chain management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment managing multiple priorities effectively.

Job Types: Fulltime Permanent

Pay: Up to AED6000.00 per month
