The candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the area of piping stress analysis for upstream oil and gas projects. This role will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the integrity and reliability of piping systems in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct piping stress analysis using industrystandard software such as Caesar II to assess the structural integrity of piping systems under various operating conditions including pressure temperature and dynamic loads.
- Perform pipe support design and selection to mitigate stress concentrations and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (ASME B31.3 API 610 etc.).
- Review piping design specifications isometric drawings and stress critical lines to identify potential issues and propose design modifications or enhancements.
- Collaborate with piping designers process engineers and other stakeholders to optimize piping layouts and support arrangements for efficient installation and maintenance.
- Participate in project meetings technical reviews and HAZOP studies to provide expert advice on piping stressrelated matters and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
- Prepare technical reports calculations and documentation to support project deliverables and regulatory compliance.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and support continuous professional development initiatives within the team.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in piping stress analysis for upstream oil and gas projects.
- Proficiency in using piping stress analysis software such as Caesar II or similar tools.
- Indepth knowledge of industry standards and codes including ASME B31.3 API 610 ASCE 7 etc.
- Professional engineering license (PE) or eligibility for licensure is desirable.
- Prior experience in offshore or subsea projects is a plus.
