About The Role
The CDL Driver is responsible for performing the duties associated with transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste between Covanta facilities and the client’s sites. In addition to transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste, drivers may also operate a variety of equipment including vacuum tankers, vacuum trucks, vans, and flatbeds.

Position Responsibilities:
- Safely operate equipment following DOT regulations and company policies and regulations.
- Drive commercial vehicles to pick up and transport waste to a designated location safely while meeting scheduled appointments and following all DOT regulations.
- Ensure placarding of the vehicle meets DOT regulations.
- Maintain paperwork including expense reports, timesheets, vehicle inspection reports, manifests, and job sheets.
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
- Secure cargo prior to and during transit.
- Complete additional assigned duties.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma, preferred
- Must have valid driver’s license and Class A CDL license
- Haz Endorsement
- Tanker Endorsement
Physical Demand of the Role:
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
- Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
- Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
- Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
- Consistently work in various weather conditions
