Job Overview

We are looking for a qualified Dean of Specialized Instruction to directly support the mission of Statesmen College Preparatory Academy for Boys by supporting the content and pedagogy development of the instructional staff and the academic achievement and growth of the scholars for an assigned grade band and caseload.

The person best suited for this role is a learning-oriented and inspirational leader with an inclination toward the development of people. You will be a deliberate team-builder with a keen ability to leverage strong relationships and social networks as capital in building effective teacher practice for student results.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Special Education Coordinator and Deans to develop and deliver targeted PD to promote high-leverage practices for SWDs. Execute the Statesmen development suite for all staff serving SWDs General Ed and Sped Teacher, Instructional and Dedicated Aides and Behavioral Technicians.
• Execute and support the academic and social-emotional/behavioral MTSS continuums, including the establishment of criteria and goals for Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, selecting appropriate curricula or interventions based on student needs. Execute progress monitoring and adjust MTSS/RTI plans based on data.
• Execute effectual communication with families, staff, and service providers. Support Student Support Specialists (Sped Teachers) with data collection as well as utilizing tools and resources to establish precise progress monitoring. Liaise and collaborate with the Special Education Coordinator in all service provision.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education (or related field), Master s Degree preferred
• 5+ years of teaching experience, preferably in public education
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (or a qualified exemption)
• Authorized to work in the US (Statesmen does not sponsor employment visas)
