Financial Controller

Position Summary:

The Quality Control Supervisor oversees and monitors Quality Inspectors, including the inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products in a production and developmental environment to ensure adherence to established quality standards. The QC supervisor works in collaboration with the Engineering and Quality teams to plan, prioritize and execute developmental activities within the QC Lab utilizing its equipment and manning resources. The QC Supervisor may recommend changes to product/material based on inspection results, creates and revises quality control policies and procedures, and trains affected personnel. Responsible for the performance to assigned performance business metrics in respective business area e.g. MRB, Training, etc. Additionally, responsible for supporting overarching business targets and objectives. The (QCS) is a working Supervisor of the Quality Control Dept. that may participate in Inspection (when needed) based on planned or unanticipated lows in the workforce.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Supervise the quality control department employees, which includes handling of all personnel issues and responsibilities in conjunction with HR and established policies.

Manage adequate staffing levels to ensure the continuity of the Inspection Operation. Responsible for approvals of PTO requests, overtime, and daily time clock punches.

Supervise the selection, workflow, training and development of QC Inspection Staff to ensure a high degree of execution (safety, productivity and quality performance).

Assess of training and development needs of the QC Inspection personnel and administering training program to strengthen the knowledge via cross-training in a multi-disciplinary setting/approach e.g. use of all inspection methods, manual inspection, vision system, coordinate measurement devices/equipment, gauge R&R, etc.

Ensure timely execution and effectiveness of Incoming/In-Process/Final inspections by managing QC work schedule and daily priorities to support company delivery schedule and productivity goals.

Provide leadership support to the QC Inspection team by assigning tasks, mentoring, coaching, training

Assist the Quality Engineering Dept. in determining appropriate AQL sampling techniques and methods to ensure the appropriate level of Quality Control Inspection

Serve as the point of contact between Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure timely and accurate communication of product issues and changes.

Assess production process issues, from a QC inspection perspective and recommend any improvements while maintaining quality performance.

Develop and implement quality assurance inspection programs/procedures to meet production standards and customer requirements in alignment with typically accepted industry standards and methods.

Ensure that all lab equipment and measurement devices are maintained and generate any necessary corrective actions.

Obtain quotes and generate requisitions for any needed ancillary equipment/devices or services in support of measurement equipment. e.g. regular maintenance intervals, calibration etc.

Make on-site recommendations with regard to equipment measurement devices e.g. preventative maintenance, service contracts. Evaluate/vet vendors to ensure the proper quality and service is maintained.

Any other duties as required by Quality Director.

Qualifications:

Must have computer skills and be proficient with MS Windows and all common MS Office applications e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point etc.

• Have a good understanding of ISO-9001 and ISO-13485.
• Good written and verbal skills, and working knowledge in the use of all hand measuring instruments, optical comparators, CMM, statistical methods, blueprint reading, GD&T

Ability to Supervise/Manage others in an empathetic and professional manner in alignment with company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Effective planning and organizational skills.

Must be capable of providing sound judgement, on multiple fronts, in an appropriate and professional manner with employees, customers, and suppliers.

• Demonstrate proficiency in IQMS MRB, RMA Modules and any other applicable business system modules.
• Be comfortable communicating with managers, engineers, etc.
• Mechanical aptitude
• Understanding of mathematical principles
• Ability to conceptualize ideas and or concepts and construct into clear and concise statements.
• Ability to read and write in the English Language.
• Self-starter with strong work ethic

Education/Experience:

• 5 years quality experience with 3 years progressive supervisory experience

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret in English. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
