Job Summary
Under the supervision of the PACE Supervisor of Dietary Services, the incumbent will ensure adequate amounts of food are planned for, purchased, and served in compliance with food safety standards and clinical
Position Responsibilities
- Plans and coordinates the service of breakfast, lunch and snack menus, per dietitian
- Reviews menus with the Supervisor of Dietary Services and adjust as instructed for clinical indication, including textures, portions and other
- Daily clean-up of dishes and kitchen
- Participates in ordering food for planned menus and other kitchen-related goods within
- Completes food service-related logs, food inventory, and other paperwork, as
- Assists in planning food service for special events and activities in the social day
- Collaborates with the Supervisor of Dietary Services to ensure kitchen practices to meet the standards of PACE regulations and the County Health
- Other projects and duties as
Possess the Ability To:
- Communicate effectively with diverse groups, including participants, families, staff, and other
- Work effectively in a team environment and independently in the
- Provide meal service to geriatric patients in a compassionate and patient
- Perform meal service and clean-up in an ergonomic manner to avoid
- Receive and carry out orders from the interdisciplinary team regarding meal
- Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date before engaging in direct participant
Requirements
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months of meal preparation service experience required, preferably in a health care
- ServSafe Certification
Knowledge of:
- Special diet orders, including dysphagia diet, strongly
- Proper body mechanics during meal prep and
- Food safety
- Basic computer skills and use of electronic
