Housekeeping Tailor

Responsibilities:

• To maintain uniforms and linen in a good condition by doing necessary repair works and save costs by using discarded linen for rags, pillow protectors, napkins etc..
• To assist linen room/uniform room. To work on a rotation basis within the Housekeeping, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction and adhering to the standards required by the hotel.
• To ensure all sewing supplies required are available at all times.
• To report any malfunction of equipment to the Engineering department and to coordinate to get external support as required for tailoring machines and embroidery machine.
• To assist the linen and valet room when needed.
• Assists uniform room Attendants in sorting out linen and uniform according to repairs to be done.
• To assist and record test wash linen and to forward report to Housekeeping Manager.
• To coordinate with laundry valet for billing requirements of tailoring requests of guest rooms.
• To carry out minor repair on room and F&B linen in order to prolong the life of linen.
• Prepare dusters and cleaning cloths for operational department with the discarded linen according to the system established.
• To attend to unexpected requests such as special stitching for function.
• To provide variety of hand and machine sewing services.
• To re-purpose discarded linen into usable items for re-circulation.
• To record all discarded uniform in appropriate log book.
• To record all embroidery related work done and to send report to finance for monthly cross charges
• To execute simple tailoring jobs as per guest’s requests.
• To fill up the miscellaneous vouchers for guest clothing repair charges.
